I went to HashiConf (paid for by HashiCorp) and learned many interesting things. HashiCorp is aiming to break even within the next 18-ish months which is possible but it's going to be a big effort. Customers at the show largely didn't care about the BSL license change, but HashiCorp was still weirdly defensive about it. Lots of interesting product news that I'll cover in more detail now that I'm not bedridden. Check out the Terraform test framework, HCP Vault Secrets and Radar, and Terraform Stacks. Also the customer keynote with The Home Depot is very worth watching, whenever it becomes publicly accessible.

Cisco said there's a zero-day in IOS XE being actively exploited. Initially Shodan showed up to 80 thousand devices affected, but a lot of them appear to have disappeared since the initial reports. It's unclear why.
